Nollywood is awarding our government? And I have being reminiscing, has the state government in anyway impacted in the movie industry or entertainment industry by discovering and sponsoring talents who have made it to limelight? I also know that Nasarawa state Government doesn’t have an active Entertainment/Movie industry and that has been the clamour of my organization Tomorrow’s Youth Ambassadors (TYA) and other youth based movement in Nasarawa state, as part of my self thoughts, I also wondered if the state government asked the veterans in Nollywood who saw them as the most deserving to merit their Iconic Award to host a talent hunt show in Nasarawa state for our young talented people. I also wished to ask if the state has been an active location for movie makers at all. Though I’m an applaudee of our amiable state government for its infrastructural development, I totally disagree that the state government is Entertainment-Inclined and that is one aspect that young people tend to associate more with, not necessarily for the fun of it, the industry is also an alternative job opportunity, AY, A.K.A Ayo Makun is a comedian whose net worth is more the monthly allocation of some state governments and he has empowered over 20 other comedians who have being able to raise others and that’s how the employability rate keeps growing. There’s no active entertainment or movie industry in my dear Nasarawa state, some of us have decided to take it upon ourselves to create programmes and events with the hope of growing the industry in the state but without 1% support from the state government I wonder if this is ever achievable. Thanks to the Nollywood veterans for coming, I pray this visit and award serves as a changing point in the Nasarawa state Entertainment industry. Congratulations to His Excellency and His Deputy for the awards they got.
