MEET THE 2016 HIGHEST PAID WOMEN MUSICIANS AS RELEASED BY FORBES

Forbes has released their annual lists of highest paid female musicians, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift took the top spot having earned $170 million over the past year.

According to the publication’s analysis, Swift’s 1989 Tour grossed over $250 million, more than $200 million of which came from her North American leg, breaking Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang Tour record.  In addition to touring, she also managed to earn money from album sales and her work with brands such as Apple and Diet Coke.

3. Madonna – ($76.5m)Madonna

Material Girl has seen her earnings come from the road courtesy Rebel Heart tour along with the ones from clothing and perfume lines.

4. Rihanna – ($75m)

Riri remains a regular face at the top of the charts. Not to mention lucrative endorsements with a number of global brands that have done great for her earnings.

Queen Bey settles in at number five this year courtesy of her album, Lemonade as well as some earnings from her Formation world tour.

6. Katy Perry – ($41m)

PerryThe “Roar ” singer earnings comes largely from part of her prismatic world tour along with a number of endorsement deals.

7. Jennifer Lopez – ($39.5m)

J Lo has something going in Las Vegas along with earning from her line of fragrance as well as from L’Oreal.

8. Britney Spears – ($30.5m)

Britney SpearsBritney scored a $35m deal to remain with Planet Hollywood, along with a releasing another fragrance of hers through Elizabeth Arden.

9. Shania Twain – ($27.5m)Shania Twain

 

Shania ranks as the highest paid female country singer and similarly to Celine Dion, has an ongoing gig in Las Vegas.

10. Celine Dion – ($27m)

 

Much of Celine’s earnings have come from her gig in Las Vegas where she performs regularly at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace.
